Hip hip hip... in a town called Reykjavik!!

Bright eyed and bushy tailed...we decided to go into Reykjavik!
Little did we know what lay ahead of us, grey skies met the mountains to greet us!

5 minutes into Reykjavik and we knew "this was a mistake"....

On our way we met a "church" really now does this REALLy remind you of a church!!

After visiting the tourist office and the so-called "shopping street" immersed in the concrete jungle, we decided to walk to the bus station and get the hell out of here...

But where is the bus station.. have they moved it.. its not where the map says it is...can the map, that the REALLY friendly girls at the tourist office gave us, be WRONG!!? no....stupid map!!

We looked and searched anything to find the bus station.. get us out of here...please!

After wandering around for 2 hours in the grey cold, and at the risk of almost missing our last bus to the lagoon.. we finally made it!!! Hip hip we were finally getting out of a town called Reykjavik!

although not without "spoils" from the day...(no we hadn't met Danny yet!) but this isnt so bad either!! jajajajaja

Northern Lights

Fully equiped to capture this wonder of nature (in case you don't know, the arrow points towards a..... tripod, of course :))

Batteries charged and ready :). Two sets!! Suprises excluded! Canon EOS 300 happy with 400 ISO film inside :).

A ride to the special spot fixed by this guy:

Take a good look! You can always count on him, if you meet him there!!

Thus, here is the effect:

Aren't the Northern Lights truly amazing??

Fun fun fun in the water

1st of March, BMC B12, Lund. Booooring coffee meeting, but we are glowing! Do some people become bit frustrated with their lab life hearing about Iceland trip? ;) :
- Do you REALLY go on Iceland to stay in spa??? :0 Phi!
Were we wrong?? Flashy bikinis in March... Suitable accessories (color-matched, of course :), pink arrow), nail-polish (well, maybe that was a mistake ;), orange arrow), blue blue sky, wonderful sun or the moon.. Hot water cuddling our wonderful bodies (never felt like Venus before :)), misty air and geyser... Take a look :) Would you believe that the temperature is -6 C?

"What happened to these people? Look, they have some strange white shit on their faces. Will the same happen to us?"

Our room at the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa

I can truly say that i have been pampered like a superstar! That is what we were treated like at the blue lagoon hotel where we stayed (of course we completely deserved it!). Our room had a patio which opened directly into the lava fields outside, with a view of the Thorbjörn mountain and the northern lights at night,

We had all the comforts one could almost get at home, with warm and comfy sofa's and bed, and hot water for coffee and tea at all times.

The hospitality here was great... after our multiple swims in the blue lagoon we were usually reavenous, and most times we were offered finger licking food... with the special "green" salad dressing...to die for!! The lounge area with a fireplace, free internet and a tv was where we kept ourselves and others entertained.

The sunny view from above

One might think Iceland is cold and cloudy! WRONGGGGGG...
We met sun, blue skies, warm weather and NO clouds in Iceland. As soon as we approached iceland we were wowed by its barren beauty and unique landscape. We started to take lots of pictures from the plane, however! Kinga's battery adventure had just started.. Kaput! her camera batteries were done for the rest of the trip!! In any case we took lots of pictures even before we landed.. and we didnt stop for a moment after... take a look....

blue arrow is our hotel and blue lagoon, and greeen arrow points to the "symbol" of our trip, you will get to see it again!!
